Wow, lol that is hardcore. Reminds me of the SUPER dangerous “man lift” that we had to use at one of the city garages I valeted at as a kid. it was a 1 foot square steel plate on a constantly moving belt up 4 stories. Mess up on the way up and fall down a narrow 1-4 story shaft, mess up at the bottom and lose a foot!
It definitely should have been out of service LONG before I ever stepped foot in that garage.

I did some automation work on a ship port grain silo that had one of those. I’m not a “one-upper” but it was 22 stories, I had a my tools in one hand and a backpack on that would occasionally catch the next story platform. I had the bright idea of turning my backpack around so it was on my chest but when I stepped on the platform I couldn’t reach the handle in front due to the backpack. Scariest ride of my life.

On the up side your youthful eagerness for adventure got sated in the garage and not customer’s cars.

I thought the same thing but I didn’t want to put forth the effort of finding a video of one in use in real life

That would be false, haha. I took a spin in any car worth taking a spin in at any venue where I could get away with it.
